The fuel filter should be located on the driver side frame rail underneath the cab of the truck.
I own a 1990 GMC Sierra 1500 5.7L V8. My fuel filter is located along the frame rail under the cab on the driver's side of the truck. You might look there for the filter on your 1989 Sierra. It's an inline silver colored canister.
Plugged catalytic converter? Air/Fuel filter? Worn plugs?
the fuel filter is usually located near the fuel tank on the driver side of the vehicle. If you look under the truck and see the tank. follow the line back towards the engine and you should see the fuel filter.
The 1987 Ford F1 50 pickup truck air filter is located on the top of the engine. The air filter will be in the air filter housing.

above oil filter.
It should be on the frame rail right behind where the bed meets the cab of the truck. Probably the driver side
It is in the line under the truck about midway to the engine.
The oil filter on a 1987 Chevy S10 truck is located on the bottom, right side of the engine. It is positioned on its side to allow for easy removal and replacement. If the S10 truck is a 4+4 with the 4.3 engine, the engine oil filter would be accessed from the top, under the hood in the drivers side front corner of the engine compartment.
