If you climb up on the engine, You will see the oil sending unit screewed into the top back right rear corner of the engine block, you will have to lean over the top of engine to see it, close to the right rear top side of the intake. It is about 3 inches long and has a electrical connector pluged into the top of it. It is hard to see.

It is on the fuel tank sending unit. You can either raise the bed or drop the fuel tank to get to it. The sending unit fits in the top of the fuel tank.
It is screewed into the drivers side head between the first 2 spark plugs.
The typical fuel pump pressure for a 1997 Chevrolet CK 1500 truck is 50 psi. The high pressure is required to atomize the fuel when it leaves the injectors.

Usually, if it is bouncing really bad, your oil pressure sending unit is getting ready to go out. They are very simple to change, it is located right behind the distributor, unplut it, screw it out and screw a new one in.
It is located right behind the intake,sticking straight up.If your sitting in your truck look right at the middle of ur windshield it will be located right in that area on the engine.
It is in the oil pan.
