I'm not a mechanic / technician but on a 1999 Mercury Mountaineer
( 4.0 litre SOHC V6 engine ) I BELIEVE the engine oil pressure switch is on the
front of the engine in the area where the lower radiator hose connects to the
water pump

The Oil Pressure Switch is located on the driver's side top rear of the engine on your Chevy Pickup.

There is actually a low-pressure switch and a high-pressure switch. The low-pressure switch is located on the right side rear of the engine compartment on top of the AC accumulator. The high switch is on the AC high pressure line in the area behind the left headlamp assembly. Niether one is hard to replace, it's self-explanatory when you see them.
The A/C pressure switch is located on the driver side towards the radiator. It is installed on a tube that the refrigerant runs through on its way to the evaporator. It screws in and has a connector with 2 wires coming out of it.

It's on the back side of the block and I think it is located near the oil filter.
