I think the proper question is why does the oil pressure gauge pulse up and down in most Lincolns? My mothers' car does this, make incessant dinging sounds, and it is quite annoying. My Ford has a mechanical gauge, and does not do this. I have read by many accounts it is probably not the pressure sender, the oil pump, or a "loose bulb" in the dash. Maybe it is frayed wiring or something else. Does anyone have any ideas? Thank You.
