Where is the original Roscoe's chicken and waffles in los angeles area?

In LA there are all kinds of restaurants to choose from. When my friends wanted to take me to a place that serves chicken and waffles mixed together, I thought she was nuts. I am originally from Ohio, but being in LA offers a broad range of eateries to choose from. At Roscoe's chicken and waffles, the atmosphere is a little more down to earth. It is good soul food and southern cooking that you can't typically find in these parts. I was amused looking over their menu and decided to have the #3 Herb's Special. It comes with a generously sized _ chicken and 2 waffles with all the trimmings. I also decided that I wanted some greens and cornbread to get the full experience. All I will say is whatever hot water does to cornbread is nothing short of miraculous. I took one bite and devoured the whole thing in an instant. The chicken and waffle concept was bizarre to me, but it totally worked. Having just a bit of the syrup on the chicken skin was amazing.Now, I was in hog heaven after about 2 bites. What you will also notice is the hospitality. The head chef was greeting people and has been at our location for 37 years. We ate at the one in Hollywood, but there are several locations around town. This one wasn't a fancy establishment and was kind of off the beaten path, but man was the food good. Everyone is so friendly here. One thing I really like was the picture of the president eating chicken and waffles they have hanging up. I guess even dignitaries like Obama love good soul food. The prices, well they are just about perfect. It's just a little bit more than fast food and a whole lot better. Grits, giblets and livers are also on the menu. Anything found in a southern cook-book can be found here. There are so many combinations of food; I don't think a person could ever get tired of mixing and matching mouthwatering items. While it's not a five star restaurant and the dcor is a big out dated, the food is nothing short of heavenly. From potatoes smothered in gravy to more chicken than you could imagine, I love this place.
