There probably will be 3 or 4 of them. At least one per exhaust manifold. There's also at least the one following the catalytic converter, before the muffler. There may be others, but they'll all be screwed into an exhaust pipe or manifold.

unplug and unscrew it with special sensor socket... keep in mind most likely it will be seized...

the sensor is located next to the oil filter on the oil filter casting.
The 1996-2001 Elantra's have two sensors the upstream and downstream the upstream sensor is located the exhaust manifold and the downstream is located behind the catalytic converter.
