It's stored in the Registry as the Default value in this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Hints\<Username>
Where <Username> is the name of the User account. Note that this is the name the account was created with, which may not be the name seen on the Welcome screen.
Open a command prompt and type Set Username to see the correct name for the current user.
Delete your password from the Control Panel
First i will try to re-call my password by using password-hint option. If it doesn't work then I will login with administrator account and change the password of my user account, if I forgotten both admin and user password then i will try to reset my forgotten password with the use of recovery software.
By default, there is no password set for the hidden administrator account on Windows XP. When setting up this account and enabling it, the user must create their own password.

Password hint is a sentence or question that should hint you to your password.
Usually there is a hidden administrator account on windows xp. Try logging with username Administrator without a password. If whoever installed you Windows was smart enough to put a password on it, or you are working with the administrator account then try calling a technician.
