I hope this answer was helpful.
Depends on what brand of computer you have but usually the pause/break key is in the top row on the right by the F12 and delete buttons
The pause key was mostly useful in MS-DOS days. It would suspend programs or allow you to pause a scrolling screen so you could read it. Using it with the Control key would allow it to terminate programs. That key is rarely used anymore.

You can right click on My Computer Icon. There you can see the last option as properties. If you click on the properties, System property window is displayed. There is also a shortcut key available to this which is Ctrl + Pause/Break (you need to keep pressing the Control key and the press the Pause/ Break key without releasing the Ctrl key)
In WinXP, windows key + pause key opens system properties. Control + pause in the command prompt (dos mode) usually makes the computer stop what it's doing. Otherwise, several games go on pause when you use that key.
Pressing the Windows button + pause/break brings up your system properties. It also pauses the game in a lot of games up to around 2004 or so; after that it was useless.
There is no pause function as such, but you can easily roll your own: #include <iostream> #include <limits> void Pause() { std::cout << "Press ENTER to continue..."; std::cin.ignore( std::numeric_limits<std::streamsize>::max(), '\n' ); } int main() { Pause(); return( 0 ); }
Pause
You can check the ram of any Windows computer by holding the windows key and pressing the pause break key on the top-right of the keyboard
The Pause/Break key was mainly used in MS-DOS days. You could press it to stop text from scrolling and read the page, or you could use it to pause a running program. You could also hold down the Control key while you press Pause/Break to possibly abort an MS-DOS program, particularly if it was hung. Ctrl-C was another combination used to abort programs.
