Hi, I have a 1996 GMC Sonoma with a 5 speed manual trans, 2.2 liter (4 cylinder) engine. The pcv on my Sonoma is located on top of the valve cover on the FRONT portion of the engine. It is held in place by a screw in star shaped plug. To get to it remove the square plastic cover with GM on it that covers the accelerator cables (1 small screw on top of cover), pull the hose off, pliers to loosen plug, unscrew plug and pull out PCV.
THE HOSE going to the back of my valve cover is just a vent tube, the aluminum tube sticking out is NOT the PCV, just a sraight through tube. Lee

The sensor is down on the front of the oil pan just behind the crankshaft pully, which is located at the front of the engine.
On the V6 the PVC valve is located on the drivers side rocker arm cover. Unsure about the I-4, but it should be on the rocker arm cover also.
