The Power Steering pump on a Ford 5.4L engine is at the front of the engine, directly below the water pump and beside the crankshaft housing. Below I have posted a picture so you can see where each of those are. This is the pulley diagram. The pump is directly behind the pulley. Hope that helps.

yes,because engine will stop if engine will stop ,power steering pump will stop. Yes, the power steering pump is powered by the rotation of the motor which is powered by fuel. If the motor stops the pump stops and steering becomes very labored especially at lower speeds.
It doesn't have a power steering pump. The system is electric, and the motor is located behind the lower knee panel attached to the steering column.

Sounds like a weak power steering pump. Have you checked the power steering fluid?

Remove the power steering pump hose. Remove the power steering pump belt. Remove the power steering pump retaining bolts. The power steering pump will come off.

Behind the power steering pump on the passenger side.The pump will have to be removed in order to remove the blower motor.
Secure the power steering pump with the retaining bolts. Attach the power steering hose to the power steering pump. Put the belt on to the power steering pump. Fill the power steering system with fluid.
