Remove the belt from your 1992 Chevrolet S 10 pickup truck power steering pump. Remove the power steering pump hose. Remove the power steering pump retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install your new power steering pump.
To replace the power steering pump on a 2007 Kia Sorento with a 6-cylinder engine, first, ensure the vehicle is turned off and safely lifted. Remove the serpentine belt by releasing the tensioner, then disconnect the power steering lines from the pump. Unbolt the pump from its mounting bracket, replace it with the new pump, and reattach the lines. Finally, refill the power steering fluid, bleed the system to remove air, and reinstall the serpentine belt.
1. Remove alternator drive belt. 2. Place alternator in upper most position. 3. Remove radiator overflow bottle. 4. Remove power steering pump drive belt. 5. Disconnect return line from pump. 6. Completely back off power steering pump pressure line nut. The pressure line will separate when the pump bracket is removed. 7. Remove power steering pump mounting bolts and pump. 8. Reverse procedure to install.
Make sure pump has enough fluid. Then in a slow steady fashion turn the steering wheel left to right going from steering stop to steering stop 5 or 6 times
You need to remove the entire power steering pump. There are two bolts holding it on at the 12 and 6 o'clock position. Remove these via the holes in the power steering pump pulley. (no need to remove the pulley) Push the pump to the side and you then have access to the water pump bolt. Hope this helps. "G"
To remove the power steering pump on a 1994 Mazda MX-6, first, disconnect the negative battery cable for safety. Next, remove the drive belt by loosening the tensioner, and then disconnect the power steering fluid lines from the pump. Unbolt the pump from its bracket and carefully remove it from the engine bay. Ensure to catch any leaking fluid and replace any worn seals or gaskets during reinstallation.
1. Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement . 2. Remove as much power steering fluid from the remote power steering fluid reservoir as possible. 3. Place drain pans under the vehicle as needed. 4. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement . 5. Remove the steering gear heat shield. Refer to Steering Gear Heat Shield Replacement ( See: Steering Gear > Removal and Replacement) . 6. Remove the right side catalytic convertor. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement - Right Side . 7. Disconnect the power steering fluid reservoir outlet hose (1) from the power steering pump. 8. Disconnect the power steering gear inlet hose (1) from the power steering pump. 9. Remove the power steering pump bolts (2). 10. Remove the power steering pump (1) from the vehicle. 11. Transfer any parts as needed.
For the 3400 Engine see arrow "F" on page 6-10 of your "Owner's Manual'. The Reservoir is on top & part of the Power Steering Pump. As for the 3800 Engine, the Reservoir & Pump Assembly is by the Firewall, behind & below the Alternator. See arrow "F" on page 6-11 for reference.....
How to Change the Power Steering Pump in a Ford F150 Proper lubrication of an F150's hydraulic steering linkage is vital to the functionality of the truck's power steering system. Over time, the seals and bearings within the truck's power steering pump corrode, resulting in power steering fluid leaks and premature wear due to the increase in temperature of the power steering components. Leaks can also pose a fire hazard if the fluid contacts the engine or the exhaust manifold when hot. Thankfully, replacement power steering pumps for a Ford F150 are readily available at most automotive parts retailers, and the replacement process is relatively straightforward. Instructions 1. Step 1 Place a container underneath the power steering pump to capture the power steering fluid as it is drained from the pump. The F150's power steering pump is located on the driver's side of the engine. Remove both the input and output hoses from the back of the power steering pump. Both hoses attach to the pump with a nut, which is located at the end of each hose. Loosen both nuts with a wrench, then pull both hoses away from the pump and allow the fluid to drain into the container. 2. Step 2 Loosen the pump's adjustment bolt with a wrench to allow the pump's belt to slacken, then lift the belt away from the pump's pulley. The adjustment bolt is located at the bottom of pump where the pump meets its mounting bracket. 3. Step 3 Remove the pump's retaining bolts with a wrench, then lift the pump out of the engine compartment. The retaining bolts are located on the mounting bracket which secures the pump to the engine. 4. Step 4 Place the replacement pump into position and install the pump's retaining bolts through the mounting bracket. Do not tighten these bolts yet. 5. Step 5 Install the two hoses to the back of the pump and place the pump's belt over the pulley on the front of the pump. 6. Step 6 Pull the pump away from the engine to tighten the tension on the belt, and then tighten each of the pump's retaining bolts. 7. Step 7 Fill the power steering pump with power steering fluid to approximately 1/2" of the top, then start the engine and turn the steering wheel several times to the right and to the left to bleed the air out of the steering system. Turn the engine off, then check the pump's fluid level with the pump's dipstick. The fluid level should appear at or just under the "Full" mark on the pump's dipstick. Add additional fluid if necessary.
follow the belt, it's always on the belt, as is the water pump, air compressor, power steering.
the problem is that your saft on your power stearing pump broke and that afects your power brakes to
The bolt that is behind the power steering pulley can only be removed by removing the power steering pump. you should be able to just pull of the pully with a power steering pully puller I got the pulley off but cannot figure out how to get it back on. Might be screwed. Probably best to remove the power steering pump. Recommend you remove the two mounting bolts for the power steering pump. They are located in the face of the pump and can be accessed using a 13mm or 1/2 deep socket through the access holes in the pulley. This will allow the pump to be moved out of the way to remove the last bolt from the water pump. gt Removing the power steering pump by going through the holes in the pulley was life saving info for me, and 13mm can work but 1/2" was the right deep socket size for me. It's hard to see where the bolts mount to though as they go thru the p/s pump, try and remember where it was so going back together will be easier.
