it is located in the trunk underneath the carpet
there is none you have to take out the back seat
it has to boxes under the hood and one in the trunk

i have a 1990 Cadillac Seville and my trunk has hydraulics on it. I just have to shut it until its almost closed and then it does the rest on its own. but you shouldn't have to slam it down or anything If it does not pull down you need to replace the pull down switch.
there is a fusebox in the trunk (on lefthand wall).

Remove and replace limit switch which is attached to the motor. It's located under the plastic trim $20.oo part at buick dealers. It's called trunk pulldown limit switch. Paul g
The cadillac catera did not come out with a key for the trunk its all electronic so if your battery is dead there is a release lever in the trunk on the trunk lid.
The trunk release is probably a button in the glove box.
