It does not have a radiator cap, you fill the radiator through the overflow/ reservoir tank located on the passanger side inner fender. It has marks on the tank to show normal fill levels (about half full is normal).
The Volvo 850 has two horns in front of the radiator, lift the hood and their they are.
Replace the radiator
There are only 2 bolts that hold the radiator in on a 1994 850. they are located in the middle on both sides. I just replaced the radiator in my 850 and it probably took 10 hours of labor after everything was done.
The 1997 Volvo 850 low pressure port is located on the air conditioning compressor. The low pressure port will be on the right hand side of the compressor.
The 1997 Volvo 850 evaporator drain tube is located on the bottom of the air conditioner compressor. The evaporator drain tube carries condensation away from the engine.

dex-cool Dex-cool is anitfreeze which goes in the radiator and cooling system. As for Freon which goes in the air conditioning system, the 97 Volvo uses R134A Freon.
It means that you are either low on water or there is a problem in the radiator system hope this helps
