By passenger front fender black box should be fuse and relay w
behind left side of dash in relay box.
In the black box on the right side under the hood. The fusible links, relays, fuses are there also.
The 1996 Kia central relay switch can be found in the fuse box. The central relay switch will be at the bottom of the third column.
I have a 2000 Kia Sportage and the engine and fuel relays are under the hood. They are on the left hand side close to the finder well in a black box. There is a diagram of which relay is what on top. If you look to the right of the fuse box there is a clip that you push and the cover comes right off. The main and the fuel relay are the same.
fuel pump relay is under hood, just before battery inside the lack box with the fuses.

Small black box, approx. 1 inch square inside the relay/ fuse box just in front of the battery and next to the main engine relay.

after extensive research on my Kia Sportage......I was told that there is NO emergency cut off switch on the 2001 Kia Sportage. It runs off of the fuel pump relay in the engine compartment fuse box. Two ways you can shut off the engine; find the gas pump fuse and remove it, if there is none, just locate the fuel line under the car , strangle the line before completely disconnect it to avoid fire
