Fuses are in the kick panel behind the clutch pedal. The switch is located on the transmission... you remove the boot from the transmission shift column, pull it up, and you can access it that way... unplug the connector from the switch, jump the two sides of the plug with a test lead... if your reverse lamps work at this point, then the switch is faulty and needs to be replaced (assuming they weren't working before). If not, you'll have some wiring to trace, starting with that same plug... one pole should always have power, so you take your test light and check to see if it does. If it does, then you work your way from the reverse lamps forward, and check the connectors. When you find one which does have power, you trace the wiring back to find the short or other fault.
