That is the dash light dimmer control switch.. Rheostat = Dimmer. Bright to dim.
Please check the fuse first. If the fuse is good then the rheostat switch is the next component to test. The rheostat is the dimmer switch you use to control the brightness of the dash lights. It will probably be part of the headlight switch. Best of luck.
Either your rheostat is turned on or you may have a bad door switch.
by the drivers side engine mount.
On the S reg espace it is located at the back left of the petrol or diesel pump its a black Button the size of a milk bottle top.
Dimmer switch (rheostat burned out?) Headlight switch?
how to test a rheostat?
Dimmer rheostat switch?
A rheostat is a variable resistor. Examples are a volume control knob or an instrument panel dimmer switch. As the resistance is increased in the switch the volume will lower or the instrument panel lights will dim.
Bad parking/tailight fuse? Open in rheostat (dimmer switch)? Bad light switch? Bulbs?
hi, the phase two espace,1990-1996 has a rheostat in the heater box, which is uover the top of the engine inside the engine bay.it is removed ria the engine bay and i am told is one heck of a job to get out(approx 3hrs work) mainly because its so fiddely.i need to replace mine but as yet have not done this job.the rhoestat is conveiently located inside the heater box so it must be removed and split into its two halves.oh and there are two types of rheostat and the only way to know which type you need is to remove it first!(cheers renault!)
The rheostat on the headlight switch is bad.
