The river tees is located in northern england to the north of middlesbrough.

It was formed about 18,000 years ago.

Its source is high up in the pennines close to cross fell and runs eastwards to reach the North Sea between hartlepool and redcar which is near middlesbrough. this is where the mouth is.

85 miles (137kn) long.
