Go to autozone and ask them to diagnose it. Your car is a 1996, it should have an OBDII, which means they'll just plug it in.
its called the MAS mass airflow sensor, and its right after your intake. its a big black peice with a plug on it that is part of your intake

The heater core is under the dash. Open the hood an look at the firewall behind the back head there are 2 hoses ther plug into the heatercore. left and right
The engine coolant drain plug on a Mitsubishi V6 engine is located on the bottom of the radiator. This allows for coolant to be quickly and easily drained.
There are two MAP Sensors on the Mitsubishi Montero Limited. They are both located on the left side of the engine about six inches apart. Look for a plug with a wire attached that resembles a spark plug wire boot.

It is a diagnostic connector and it is located on the driver (LEFT) side near the battery

You can find your 1994 Nissan Maxima auto scanner plug on the bottom of the drivers side dashboard. The auto scanner plug will be to the left of the steering column.
