It's on the front of the engine and the belt rides on it's pulley, it's the pulley that you have to release to get the belt off.
You will need to loosen the tensioner pulley. Slide the tensioner pulley to the right and the serpentine belt will become loose. Remove the old serpentine belt and put the new serpentine belt on. Slide the tensioner pulley to the left and tighten it.

rotate the tensioner clockwisse to release belt tension. remove belt from the auxilarary components and slowly release tensioner. route the new belt over the various pulleys, again rotating tensioner to allow belt to be installed then release tensioner. That I know of, there is NO serpentine belt, unless you are talking about the the Timing Belt (hardly serpentine, but anyway), it has a belt tensioner, not automatic, though.
