On a Citroen xsara Estate t-reg the cooling switch is located at the top near side of the radiator, usually a blue connector with a yellow ring around the switch

Nothing listed as Cooling fan in the handbook Fuse F15 rating 15 A is for Airconditioning-Telematics-Parking Assistance-instrument panel-Audio system Fuse F18 rating 30 A/40 A is for Air blower There are two fuse boxes one in the glove compartment for fuse F15 and the other is under the bonnet next to the battery which has fuse F18. You will have to remove the battery cover to access this fuse box.

pull the carpet from the footwell you will see the bottom of the blower pull the black wire off it will stop the fan dont try to put a switch in here as the current is to heavy you can use a relay with a neg trigger to activate fan from a remote switch

Just replaced the fan belt on my citroen xsara. The problem I had was increasing the tension. I eventually sorted it by Loosening bolt on tensioner with a T45 TRX key. The tensioner can now slide up/down to increase/decrease tension. When new fan belt is on correctly, to get a nice tight belt rotate large nut on tensioner with a socket. I used an adjustable pipe wrench as i did not have a socket big enough.Do not have a diagram for fan belt but will try to explain. 3 pulleys and 1 tensioner. Place belt over near side pulley and rear pulley.Next from bottom of near pulley run the belt over top of the tensioner.The belt goes around the back of the tensioner and comes forward towards you around the third pulley.That's itNow tighten her up.Hope this makes since.

You should find the Cooling and A/C fan fuses in the underhood fuse box. When I see problems with any of these fans it is not usually a fuse that is causing the problem. If a fuse is blown then there is another problem causing it to blow.
