You will find the vehicle speed sensor bolted in the transfer case tail shaft housing. It will have a electric wire pluged into it and will be held in place with a 10mm bolt and clamp.
Now the wheel speed sensors are bolted into the Front wheel hub / bearing assembly. There will be a electric wire running across the upper A frame and going behind both front wheels. follow the wire to the sensors.
On the 1999 Chevy Silverado Z71 4WD, the speed sensor is part of a module. It is located next to the transmission housing.
