if it's a four cylinder, just buy the starter and take it to the shop, replacing the starter on my four cylinder hardbody was just about the hardest thing I've ever had to do to my truck and i replaced the clutch last year! it's on the passenger side of the engine but you have to reach up and over the oil pan, putting a very awkward angle on your wrist, almost impossible to get a wrench in there, and your blood always drains out of your arm forcing you to stop between inching the long as hell bolts out. my arm hurts now just thinking about it. It's only two bolts but one of them is on the exact opposite side of the only accessible point of the starter. if you have an entire day and the patience to wait out your arm waking back up every twenty minutes go ahead, but i say buy the starter yourself and take it to the shop! it does suck but if you take off the passenger tire and have normal size hands then it takes about 30 min in and out i had to take mine out 3 times my first time doin a clutch a fine tooth set of ratchets tremendously helps
