You did not state the engine but assuming it is the 360 v8. the starter is on the passenger side near the bottom of the engine and at the point where the engine bolts to the transmission.
If you are refering to the belt tensioner. I have not seen one on a grand wagoneer with a 360.
according to the owners manual for my 1987 Grand Wagoneer, it holds 20.3 gallons
its under the dash on the driver side

The starter on a 1986 Cadi Eldorado is located under the car right to the left of the oil pan. Look for your flywheel, and you will find your starter.
The starter solenoid on a 1986 Cadillac Coupe Deville is located under the front of the vehicle. It is to the left of the oil pan.
Starter is located under the exaust manifold to the right..... easy to get to..
I got mine from a repair manual purchased at the auto parts store. there are manuals available from ebay. and there are at least two web sites that sell parts for the Grand wagoneer. there may be schematic available on line.
The starter is mounted on the passenger side of the transmission. It has one wire connected to it (with a small bolt) and there are two bolts holding the starter in.
