Always disconnect the battery before you start, or you'll do some accidental "arc welding" with your ratchet and/or socket. :) And remember that if you have a stock radio that requires the security code to unlock it, get that before you do anything, or you'll be stuck without a radio until you get it.

In my 4 cylinder automatic transmission, it's on the left-hand side of the engine, just a bit behind the battery and battery case. It's mounted with two bolts directly to the passenger side of the engine, and there is not much room in that area. The two bolts that hold it in are usually very tight, so you will need some leverage. I've heard that removing the battery and battery case will sometimes help, but you can also get to the bolts from underneath somewhat, depending on whichever is easiest.

So, disconnect the connections (12 mm for the battery connection, I believe) and then use a 14 mm to get the bolts out. Once you have the bolts out, you'll have to turn it a little to get it away from the engine, then just reverse the process to put the replacement back in.
