it is located in the valve body. Your best bet is to take it into a transmission shop. Usual signs it's gone bad are surging from 40-55 mph. getting a remanufactured valve body can sometimes clear the problem cheap, but it's a pain to get to

You have a starter/ignition switch mounted in the steering column and you have a starter solenoid switch that is mounted to the starter.
On my 95 it is located in the transmission under the valve body cover on the drivers side of the transmission. It is the solenoid on the bottom left hand side of the valve body. I had to take the suspension and frame support off and lower the transmission before I could remove to valve body cover. A retainer clip holds the TCC solenoid in place.

There is no relay starter,only a solenoid attach to a right fender where all wires from a positive attach to. The solenoid of 95 is attached to the starter,not on the fender.
