Crank sensors are always located on the camshafts. The 1989 Pontiac Sunbird crank sensor is located on the head of the engine towards to end of the camshaft.
Should be located at the rear of the radiator approx. 1/3 from the top unscrew to replace
on the right side of the block just above the trany The sensor is located just above the manfol.
on the side of the engine block on the driver side. screws in. has 3 wires coming out of the connector running to the fan.

Pontiac Sunbird was created in 1975.
There is no cam sensor on this particular engine. Only a crank sensor mounted behind the harmonic balancer.

I have a 1992 Pontiac Sunbird with 2.0 four cylinder in it, just found the crank sensor on it, to replace it. It is located on the FRONT side of the engine, below exhaust manifold and just above the A/C compressor. HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE ELSE!
