Follow the upper radiator hose to the motor. The hose will clamp onto a metal dome shaped cover. The thermostat is under that cover. Drain a few gallons of coolant, unbolt the housing, note how the thermostat is in the motor (there is a top and bottom), clean the old gasket off the hosing and motor, put in new thermostat and gasket, bolt the housing on...don't overtighten!!! Fill with coolant and if there is a screw on top of the housing, loosen the screw with engine running until coolant comes out bubble free.....retighten screw.
Top front of the engine, closest to you when standing at the front. Follow the upper radiator hose to where it meets the engine. The hose fastens on to the thermostat housing. Remove this and within is the thermostat. Note how it is possitioned. When replacing, get one with a bleeder hole in it.This allows pressure from air to dissipate allowing correct flow.
pop open your hood and look at the top front of your engine. there is a fat hose that runs from the left of your radiator to the engine. that hose terminates at the motor at the thermostat housing. typically held on by 2 bolts. use a new gasket and some sealant. easy job to do. use the factory 195 degree thermostat, its best. otherwise your car will run weird and computer will think its still warmin up.
