before you change the thermostat make sure the engine is cold. you don't have to drain coolant, unless you want to replace it also. there will be a minimal coolant loss if you decide not to drain but can easily be top off. If you follow the lower hose to the engine, you will see a the end of hose attached to the themostat housing. Remove the housing bolts (2) using a 10mm socket with extension. After removing this, you'll see the thermostat!
follow your bottom radiator hose to the thermostat housing remove the 2 10mm screws and there is the thermostat

its in the front by the hoses, its in the left hand of the engine (top of the radiater to the engine theres three bolts, take hose off then you can see it, u have to put the termostate in the right way or your crx wont run right
On my 1984 CRX the dipstick is underneath the battery. I had to take the battery out to check it.
