If the vehicle is a petrol V8 it is located at the front of the intake manifold where the top hose enters the block.
No it will not work.
Its on the housing directly behind the waterpump.

Follow the top hose coming out of your radiator which comes off of the right-hand side. The point where it meets the enige is where the thermostat is. You'll see two bolts. Take them off the thermostat will be right there.

It is located in a radiator hose, on a Petrol this is on the left side of the fan when looking at the engine.
