That is not correct, the third largest coral ecosystem is actually located off the cost of Andros Island in the Bahamas. IT over 140 miles along and sits on the edge of the tongue of the ocean an abyssal trench that plunges nearly a mile down.

After Andros is the red sea reef in Egypt which stretches some 1200 miles along the coast however it consists mainly of fringing rather than barrier reefs.
