Most torque struts are located in engine and brace the between the engine and frame, on gm verhicel they call them dog bones
There is one on the front passenger side and a torque strut on the front. The torque strut acts like a motor mount.

Basically, the purpose of the torque strut mount is to keep the engine and transmission from vibrating excessievely. This smooths the ride, keeps the engine/transmission from excessivel stressing the engine/rtansmission mounts on the frame, and provides for a smoother ride and better drivability. Without the torque strut mount, the top of the engine would be unsupported and damage to the drive train would occur.
Two ways, cut out old bushing andpress in new or replace the whole torque strut assembly by removing the bolts. Rock Auto has the bushing for $25 shipped to me.

The?ætorque strut mounts help keep the engine and the transmission in place and reduce vibration. There are?ætwo visible bolts that connect the strut to the car structure. Unscrew the nuts and use a hammer to get them off.
You've got 4 mounts total. A transmission mount, then on the other side of the motor, you've got a mount that goes to the middle of the engine that is in the fender, and upper torque strut and a lower torque strut on that same side.
Front: Strut to body: 29-40 ft. lbs. Front: Strut to knuckle: 84-98 ft. lb.s Rear: Strut to body: 12-14 ft. lb.s Rear: strut to knuckle: 65-80 ft. lb.s
The torque strut mount must come out along with the mount to remove the alternator
A "strut" is a rod or bar forming part of a framework and designed to resist compression as such it is used to reinforce the shelf by preventing it sagging in the middle. So ti is located in the middle.
FRONT STRUT: Damper Shaft Nut >52 Ft-lbs, Strut Upper Mounting Nuts >24 Ft-lbs, Strut to Steering Knuckle Nuts >96 Ft-lbs; REAR STRUT: Damper Shaft Nut >55 Ft-lbs, Strut Upper Mounting Nuts >33 Ft-lbs, Strut to Rear Knuckle Nuts >89 Ft-lbs.....
The blower resistor is located over the passenger side strut tower.
