The 1999 - 2006 acura tl's don't have a transmission oil cooler. no cooler lines to the standard radiator either. Phil
An external transmission cooler is normally added in line with a vehicles already existing transmission cooler built into the radiator its function is to cool the transmission only. Adding, replacing and or repairing a transmission cooler would only benefit the transmission by cooling the transmission fluid. The transmission cooler is used mainly for cooling transmissions that pull heavy loads like trailers but is also used a lot in racing to keep the fluid cooler which helps reduce transmission overheat or burnout. , EzForJesus

From the transmission? No? But antifreeze & transmission fluid can mix. Your transmission uses a small portion of the radiator as a transmission cooler, normally at the very bottom or side. In very rare instances, this cooler can develop a leak and allow transmission fluid and antifreeze to mix together. The only fix is to replace the radiator.
The transmission cooler lines are located coming from the radiator on the bottom. One is for the sending and the other for return. The lines are high pressure, just as your radiator hoses are when the car is running. The lines go from the radiator to the top of the transmission.
Normally the Dipstick is located on the passenger side back of the engine. They normally make them with red or black handles.
