Where is the transmission dipstick located on a 2000 vw passat?

The transmission is located in close proximity to the engine, usually (in Hyundai's) transversely mounted directly under and behind the engine (behind the engine in terms of: following from the front of the vehicle towards the rear of the vehicle). If you follow the transmission fluid dipstick housing (shaft) down - that transmission fluid dipstick housing will end directly into the upper-most part of the transmission housing.
Standing in front of your car, the dipstick is located at the back of the engine compartment (firewall side of the engine) near the brake fluid resevoir. The dipstick tube is approximately 1" in diameter and has a red handle. The "resevoir" is the transmission pan located underneith the transmission under the car. Hope this helps. "G"
The dip stick for an automatic tranny is located up from of the throttle body, to the left of the air filter housing (big black plastic box on the lower right of the engine bay) if you need more help find this book: Haynes repair manual, Dodge Neon 2000 thru 2003.
