With the key, there is no trunk release inside the car. You use the same key you would use to open the door to open the trunk.
Open the glove box, and there should be a button to pop your trunk

The paint code is located in the trunk on the platform that over the spare tire. That's where you will find it usually three numbers and one alphabet.
Seems silly.. take out the old one, and install the new one. Pull the carpet away from you in the trunk by your brake lights, and you'll see 3 screws with plastic wingbolt lookin things. Unscrew all of them, and you can pull the entire assembly out.
