Valet mode disables the electric trunk release and the "home link functions" for security reasons when valet parking. The "valet key" will not open the trunk
Convenience Valet was created in 1997.
Try under the dash near the glove box.
The Valet switch is located in the center console storage bin. If you have tried that and you still find that the trunk will not open with the fob or you need to use the key every time to open it you may have a problem in the wiring harness. It is very common in the X300 series jaguar, The wiring harness snakes under the RHS trunk hinge and a break may occur here causing the trunk not to open when you press the fob or the internal trunk switch.
Make sure you're not using the valet key. It will not open the trunk, center console armrest, or the glove compartment. It will only have one side cut, with the other completely uncut.
pass. side panel behind the glove box
check valet button n glove box.it deactivates trunk release. also the contacts inside the remote get dirty,
There is a switch in the glove box that pops it open.

The trunk switch on the dash should still operate unless the trunk release switch inside the glove box has been turned off.

I'm looking for the location of the valet switch on a 2003 ford expedition. my factory alarm system seem to be stuck in the on mode which has cause the SUV to not turn over at all. I first thought that it was a starter promblem so i replaced it. same deal, no difference. if anyone have a clue as to what may be going on please respond as soon as possible. thanks
