its in the side of the washer bottle located in front of the offside wheel beyond the plastic wheel arch liner, ideally remove o/s/f wheel & liner 1st :-)
Your washer pump is located right in the washer fluid bottle on the bottom of it.

most washer pumps are located under the washer fluid reservoir so it will self prime it self
That is located in/or under the main washer fluid reservoir tank.
According to the owner's manual a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport Trac has a 7.5 amp fuse in location # 12 for the washer pump relay and in the power distribution box of a 2001 Sport Trac ( PD BOX IS LIVE - DISCONNECT YOUR NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE) in location # 46 B is the front washer pump relay.
Under and forward of offside wheel arch, requires removal of plastic wheel arch covers to gain access.
Access the pump motor through the front passenger wheel panel
Assuming that your 2001 is the same as my 2000, the pump is atached at the bottom of the fluid reservoir. It does not need to be primed. --Ken
The windshield washer pump is located on the water reservoir. Remove the wheel on the driver's side and then the cowling around the wheel well that is in front of the wheel. Once it is off, the windshield washer pump on the water reservoir will be visible for easy replacement.
