on the driver side head just above exhaust manifold
The 1992 Chevy 3500 temperature sensor is located on the front of the engine. The temperature sensor will be in the vicinity of the thermostat housing.
On my '76 454, the oil pressure gauge hooks to a female threaded hole located directly above the oil filter. an oil line runs from here directly to your oil pressure gage. The coolant temp sensor is located in the middle of the cylinder head usually on the drivers side.
On the back of the engine neasr the distributor. Big silver thing with a single wire clipped on it.
The temp sensors are in the sides of the heads under the exhaust manifolds one is for the gage the other is for the computer.
The 1994 Chevy 454 cubic inch big block engine temperature sensor is located on the front of the engine. The engine temperature sensor will be a few inches above the thermostat housing.
Is it Diesel? If not sounds like an air flow/air temp sensor is bad - your computer is telling the fuel injectors to add fuel because it is sensing the air is too cold. Could be a bad O2 sensor as well.
Iat / Idle air temperature sensor was not used on that year.
Need to know the year of the engine. You will need to ask your question again with that info. Thank you.
It should be part of the distributor.
that must be some metro to have a big block
There is such a thing as a 454 truck engine, also 454 passenger car engine.
I have a 99 2500 454 the temp runs at 210
