If you are talking about an automatic transmission, the dipstick is almost directly under the distributor cap. It should be orange, and is not far from your engine oil dipstick. Very awkward place to get a funnel to.

The fill plugs are not usually welded closed. They are closed very tightly and may require some torque to remove them. Especially if this is the first time being removed.

The sr5 is just the model, there are different models, like base, limited, xsp, xsp-x, texas edition, etc.
no the difference is in the trim on the vehicel the sr5 has a factory tach and sometimes a/c and power options other than the motors are the same
