The fuse for the trunk light on a 2001 Lincoln LS is in the trunk. It is fuse number 4. It is a red 10A mini fuse. The trunk fuses are in the spare tire compartment. Lift up the cover in the trunk and latch it. You should see the spare tire and the car's battery. Next to the battery is a black fuse box. It has a lid that you can swing up and take off. The lid has the fuse numbering system for the box. Again, you are looking for number 4, which is a red 10A mini-fuse. It is the fourth one from the left in the upper row of mini-fuses. If you read the owners manual, page 184 lists the fuses for the trunk fuse box. The manual does not list the trunk light. However, the trunk light is on the same fuse as the fuel door release solenoid. Note that page 183 has a diagram of the fuses in this fuse bad and a diagram showing where the box is in relation to the spare tire and battery.
Number 7 fuse on the right brake light in the trunk fuse box number 5 for the left side brake light also in the trunk.

In my 2000 Lincoln LS the fuse box is in the trunk next to the battery and the spare tire. You need to pull the floor cover and the fuse box is a black box behind the battery.
On a 2000 Lincoln LS : In the rear power distribution box ( which is " live ) located by the spare tire / battery in the trunk ( # 16 is a 20 amp mini fuse for the moonroof )
