All RV trailers are required to have the VIN:
Displayed on the left front corner of the body. These labels peel off, fall off or fade away depending on f they are stickers or metal plates.
Stamped into the frame on the front left of the trailer. You may have to crawl underneath with a rag and a flashlight to find it.
Most RV trailers have a sheet of paper glued inside a cupboard that has the VIN and all Appliances listed on it.

On my 1999 M-2205 travel trailer, the VIN is etched into the tongue. Look on the tongue. It should be etched in.

tongue of the hitch area.
If it is home made the MVD will issue you a vin number if it passes inspection.
A VIN search is performed in most states by a certified VIN Inspector, and/or a county official or peace officer, such as a Deputy Sheriff. Performing a VIN inspection is a fairly straight forward process where the VIN on the title or pink slip is compared to the VIN etched into the frame of the vehicle. Depending on the vehicle it is not usual to check the VIN in at least two locations on the vehicle. The VIN on a trailer is usually located on the tongue portion of the trailer or the front portion of the frame. In some cases a VIN plaque is affixed to the side or interior of the trailer. A typical VIN inspection of a trailer will only involve checking for the VIN on the tongue.
You don't! The best thing you can do is park it next to the Mexican border!
Trailers do not have VIN numbers.
