Chateau Doue la Fontaine, which was converted to a donjon from an earlier structure in about 950, is the oldest castle in Europe. It is in a French commune, or municipality, of the same name.

Another great and ancient palace I know is in Poland - The Niemodlin Castle.

I don't the name of it but there are alot of old castles in Berlin, Germany.
