where is the ecm on a 2000 buick lesabre
Yes the ecm( engine control module)/ pcm( powertrain control module) are the same thing. Different manufacturers use different acronyms, ECU (engine control unit) is another often used.
the quad driver module is a component of the ECM. you must replace ECM.
The ECU is located behind the glove box upper left!
I do believe on your model the ECM is located under the right hand of the instrument panel. If you really need to remove the ECM I would likely suggest a Haynes repair manual for this operation.
What you are looking for is the DLC or Data Link Connector which will require an OBD-II reader to retrieve codes from. The location of the DLC is on the driver's side under the dash.
1 to 2 hrs for diagnoses 45 minutes to change module
Either the throttle plate is sticking or the idle air control is not responding to ecm signal.
ecm stands for electronic control module
If a quad driver has gone bad it is necessary to replace the ECM. After replacing the ECM, drive the car on a bumpy road and note whether the check engine light comes on. If it does, fix the problem or you end up with a repeat QDM failure. == == == == There is no such thing as a quad driver module. There are quad DRIVERS in the ecm.
The PCM (or ECM) is located on the interior of the car on the passenger side. To access the PCM/ECM remove the kick panel just beneath the glove box and it is right there. Disconnect the three electrical harnesses and and sucuritity clip and it's out.
