The term you are referring to is "Total War" in which a country devotes all resources/citizens to the war effort. There have only been a few instances in which an entire country has devoted all of their resources to war. An example would be Germany in WWII. They as a country put all efforts towards the war, though in the end, lost. Countries like U.S.A. and the U.S.S.R. put forth alot of their resources towards the war but not nearly all.

Answer Part of the answer is that they did not have to. After war broke out, Germany attacked and conquered the countries around it and began taking their resources to use for their war effort. They plundered these countries to support their economy.
By participating in team sports, the foremost benefit to be derived is the togetherness, combined effort to achieve success. It teaches us that without looking for individual performance, if we put joint effort in completing a task, the success rate is much higher in comparion to individual effort.

Participating in competitions is good for kids as it lets them know that they giving their best effort they will receive a reward. It also teaches them to be a good sport and to get to know other kids too.
