This can be hard! First of all, you have to determine what kind of making out you're doing. If you're passionately "sucking face" then hands can go anywhere! Just don't be awkward! Hands laying in your (own) lap, or glued to your sides, is awkward. Hands on the person's face, wrapped around them, (feeling them up..?) is not awkward! Get creative with it and be comfortable!
