Yes, they did. On october, the seventh Columbus had to face a mutiny because the crew felt taht they were lost in the middle of the Ocean. At the beginning of the voyage, the did not trust very much in an foreigner who wanted to carry out a crazy project; however they finally accepted to enroll in such an adventure. But after thirty days sailing in the middle of the scary ocean they thought that Columbus was lying about the distance to sail to get ashore. The admiral could finally suffocate the mutiny, but three days later a secon mutiny, harder than the first one, occurred. They were completely sure that Columbus was not telling the truth about the distance to sail to find land, and that they were being deceived into thinking they were not lost. This time the Pinta's captain, Martin Alonso Pinzon had to intervene, because the crew even thought of throwing Columbus off the ship. As Alonso Pinzon was a well known mariner who counted on the admiration of the crew, the seafarers calmed down, but Columbus had to commit himself to return if they did not find land in three days. Two days later, they finally came across the New World.
Yes, The crew was going to throw him over board. He gave them a deal after 3 days if they had not found land he would turn back. You might want to know Why his crew went to mutiny: They were scared, sea sick, tired, hungry(The rats ate food, and what little food they didn't eat was filled with worms) and homesick. Ferdinand Magellan was famous for circumnavigating the earth, though he was killed toward the end of his journey. When he landed on Cebu, he converted the Chief from their native religion to Christianity. When other islands heard of this, they began a war against this decision. It was in this war, that Magellan was killed in 1521. What remained of his crew returned to Spain on his behalf in 1522. He also discovered the Pacific Ocean which he named. Pacific means 'peace' or 'peaceful'. Ferdinand Magellan was also known for being able to put down a mutiny on his ship using strength and wit.
He was officially credited with 80 downed aircraft. He shot down some aircraft that he did NOT receive credit and some say he was given credit that he did not down---his wingman downed it. Also, he was responsible for almost the same number of enemy aircraft killed. Some enemy pilots he shot down survived but then other aircraft he shot down had 2 crew.
