The 652nd Tank Destroyer Battalion was based at Camp Hood (now Fort Hood) in Texas, the home of the Tank Destroyer Forces. The unit was one of seven tank destroyer battalions that remained in the U.S. and was not deployed overseas. It is known that the 652nd was engaged in combat training at Camp Robinson in Arkansas on March 13, 1944 when an anti-personnel mine accidentally exploded during weapons instruction, killing 12 soldiers and injuring 14. During 1944 and 1945, members of the 652nd were assigned as armed escorts to watch over German prisoners of war arriving aboard ships on the east coast and guarded them as they were transported on trains to POW camps throughout the U.S.
I couldn't find specific records for the 733rd Field Artillery Battalion in Denbigh for the months of April through June 1944. However, during that time, the United States Army was heavily involved in World War II, and many units were deployed and stationed in various locations. To obtain more precise information about the battalion's activities during that period, it may be best to consult official military records or archives.
I am unable to find any record of the 1138th Engineer Combat Battalion being stationed in Iceland. Furthermore, I am unable to find any record of an 1138th Engineer Combat Battalion being activated during WW 2. Please feel free to contact me with the source of your information, so that I may continue research on your behalf. It would be my pleasure to assist you. Richard V. Horrell WW 2 Connections.com
