I believe it is because they are a bird and usually they tend to have curved beaks. This bird however uses its beak for eating mice. where as with your common bird like a sparrow or a blackbird they tend to eat worms or insects. This is because of the size difference between the two birds. A barn owl usually live in barns as you can probably tell from the name "barn owl" pronounced Bar-na-ow-la. these birds are known for their good eye sight and extremely large feet. they are a caramel colour with a white under belly.
