There have been 2 Industrial Revolutions: From circa 1750-1850 the first industrial revolution occurred in Britain when changes in agriculture, transportation, mining, manufacturing, and technology occurred. The second one occurred in North America when Henry Ford innovated the assembly line and created a concept of mass production.
Assembly line production was an innovation that may be considered part of the post industrial revolution days. The most famous one was the assembly line production system pioneered by Henry Ford in the early days of the 20th Century. The value of being able to produce a product using assembly line procedures is immense. In most cases, a reduction in the cost of making a product can be passed on to the consumer, resulting in higher levels of sales. In a sense, enabling more people to afford products enhances their lives and with that in mind, it creates a degree of prosperity a society requires.
