Hiroshima was bombed on 8/6/1945, and Nagasaki was bombed on 8/9/1945. Hiroshima along with Nagasaki are both located in Japan near the south western corner. They are both not as far down as the Ryukyu Islands, so they would be considered mainland Japan.
