I don't think that ANY individual person has ever built a space rocket. Such rockets are built by teams of people, not by individuals.
Stations are built in space; Shuttles use rocket boosters.

The first rockets to actually reach "space" were the ballistic missiles of World war II Germany, the A4, known popularly as the V-2, in 1942. The first orbiting Earth satellite was the USSR's (Russian) Sputnik in 1957.
In 1969, the first rocket went to the moon. The name of the rocket that propelled them into space was the Saturn V rocket.

The first man-made vehicle purpose built to reach space was Sputnik 1 launched on an R-7 rocket by the USSR on October 4 1957. Prior to this, a German V2 rocket had reached the arbitrary limit we call 'space' - 62 miles - by mistake.
The first train called "The Rocket" was built by George Stephenson and his son Robert in 1829 for the Liverpool and Manchester Railway in England. It is considered one of the first successful steam locomotives.
The first space shuttle, the Space Shuttle Columbia, was built by a team of engineers and scientists working at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), primarily at the Rockwell International plant in Palmdale, California.
